Vietnam War US Marines LCpl, B CO, 1ST BN, 7TH MARINES, 1ST MARDIV, III MAF He enlisted in the US Marine Corps on October 6, 1966 in Boston MA. He arrived in Vietnam on April 18, 1967 and was assigned to Company B, 1st Battalion, 7th Marines, 1st MARDIV (Rein) FMF.

During Operation WORTH Company B attacked westward when the lead squad encountered a group of uniformed enemy who opened fire with B-40 RPG's (Rocket Propelled Grenades) and automatic weapons, LCpl Mohrmann was hit and killed by the enemy rifle fire.
