Biography

Olga was born about 1908. She was the daughter of Johannes Missig and Mary Freshcorne. She passed away in 1991.[1] She is buried in the Maryborough Crematorium, Queensland.[2]

In 1929, Olga married James Charles Winn.[3]

A wedding with Nuptial Mass was celebrated by the Rev. Father Jefffcott, S.M., at the Church of "Our Lady Star of the Sea," Gladstone, when Miss Olga Eugene, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs, John Oscar Mlssig, of Police Creek, was joined in the sacrament of matrimony to Mr. James Charles Winn, son, of Mr, Nicholas Henry Winn and Mrs. Winn, of Cloncurry, North Queensland,
The bride was attended by Miss Ethel Jordan, As bridesmaid, while Mr, Claude Jordan carried out the duties of best- man.
The wedding, breakfast was held at the residence of the bride's parents at Police Creek, over which Rev. Father Jeffcott, S.M., presided, the usual toasts being honoured.
Mr. Winn is at the present time the president of St. Joseph's Branch No. 300, of the H.A.C.B. Society[4], and It is unique In the history of the branch that the ceremony should have been performed by one who is at the present time Its secretary, On the day of the wedding the District Board meeting of the Central District was to progress in Rockhampton, and its felicitations, made the occasion still more unique.
Mr. and Mrs. Winn left by the Townsville mail for the North their honeymoon.[5]
