Leoluca Milone is born and baptized 4 August 1813 in Corleone, the son of Calogero Milone and Carmela d'Anna. His godparents are Salvatore and Margherita Maringo, a married couple.[1]
He is confirmed on 16 November 1829 in Corleone. His sponsor is Placido Iannocco (or Jannocco).[2]
During the cholera epidemic of 1837, rumors spread by Republicans, who are opposed to the Bourbon king, that the king is poisoning the populace with cholera. On 21 July, an angry mob kills four men. One of the aggressors of this mob is Leoluca Milone. For his part, he is executed.[3]
Leoluca dies 2 August 1837. His age, and parents' names, are not recorded.[4]
The priest and historian, Don Giovanni Colletto, calls Leoluca the 23 year old son (b. 1814) of Michaelangelo. There is no other Leoluca Milone born close to 1814, based on the indices of baptisms from 1810-19.
On 19 August, Leoluca's cousin, Pasquale d'Anna, age 22, is killed.
