I later noticed there is a different Thomas Miller in DAR records that was born circa 1758 in "Virginia" and died in 1820 in POWHATAN CO VIRGINIA". This is a fit for the Thomas Miller of this profile so there were two Thomas Miller's in Powhatan Co., VA around this timeframe.

It appears he was the Thomas Miller listed in the DAR record (link above) that was noted born in 1749 in Cumberland Co., VA and died in April, 1786 in Powhatan Co., VA (Powhatan Co. was formed from Cumberland Co.; so depending on form year, he may have alway lived in what is now Powhatan Co.

1. Thomas Miller, from 1777 to 1786. According to tradition, a fine clerk and a fine gentleman, a lawyer by profession, and a large landholder, all of which was bequeathed to his oldest son, Thomas Miller, who represented the County many years in the House of Delegates.
