Biography
George Henry Millen was an American-born engineer, business figure and inventor in Hull, Quebec.
Born in 1838 in Glens Falls, New York, he was the son of Hiram and Ann Millen.[1][2]
He married Lucinda Cushing and they had one daughter, Annette, before emigrating to Hull, Quebec, where George began his career at the E.B. Eddy Company.[3] He rose from foreman to eventually become president in 1915. During his time at the company, he played a major role in developing new machinery for its paper mills. In 1895 he invented a tricycle that ran on naphtha.
He managed E.B. Eddy until his death in 1928.[4] He was buried at Beechwood Cemetery, Ottawa.[5]
