Ella (Milburn) Demman was a Canadian First Peoples and member of the Metis Nation.
Early Life
Ella Milburn was born to Ernest and Olive Milburn on November 1, 1910 in Portage La Prairie, Manitoba.[1]
From 1911 to 1921, Ella's father was a laborer on Henry Jackson's farm, and they lived on his property.[2][3][4] By 1926 the Milburn family was no longer living on the Jackson farm but they were still living in the same area of Portage.[5]
The Demmans had 7 children together, most of whom are still alive today. As of February 2024, their oldest sons, Mick and Buck are the only ones who have died.
Ella and Edwin lived in Portage La Prairie in 1968, where Edwin was a farmer.[7]
Death and Legacy
Ella died on September 9, 1997 in Portage La Prairie and is buried in the Hillside Cemetery there with her husband.[8]
