You have created several pre-1700 profiles using only "Ancestry records" as a source. Please do not create any more without providing a proper source upon creation. Profiles and trees from sites such as FamilySearch, Ancestry, Geneanet, Geni, etc... are not acceptable as sources for Pre-1700 profiles. A reliable source provides sufficient information for another researcher to find and confirm your research. This is the link to a Reliable Sources page that has the various projects sourcing guidelines. https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Category:Reliable_Sources_for_Pre-1700_Profiles
The G2G forum is also a great place to ask for help or advice.
Thanks!

I see you merged Mikel-86 into Michael-290 this is the incorrect direction of a merge. A merge can not be undone once the merge is completed.

Thanks for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz!
Because pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants, working with members of the projects which coordinate them is essential. You can learn more about joining the community in How To #3 and in the Project FAQ.
Use the Pre-1700 Projects list to find one which best fits your research focus. Review the project pages for special guidelines and to learn how to collaborate with the project members.
Let me know if you have trouble finding projects which fit your focus. Click my name, then ask in the comment section of my page.
Remember to cite reliable sources in pre-1700 profiles that you manage, or edit. (See: Pre-1700 Reliable Sources).

How are you? I'm David a WikiTree Mentor. Thanks for adding profiles to WikiTree.
I look forward to working with you on your duplicates and profiles.

This is a courtesy e-mail to see how things are going. Are you enjoying WikiTree so far? Have the tips in the New Member How-Tos been helpful?
Please do let me know if you have any questions about how WikiTree works, no matter how small. My rule of thumb when I started was to search for an answer for five minutes, then reach out to my Greeters, and then resume searching. I might have found the answer before they got back to me but they sometimes offered a different way of doing the same thing which was easier.
You can reach me by using the reply link for this comment or send a private message from my profile by clicking my name. See you in the branches,

P.S. Did you discover that the Tags you follow (names in green boxes) are clickable links to a page of other people who have that tag? They also control the information which is included in the activity reports which you receive from WikiTree. You can add up to 20 total, or delete some if you are receiving irrelevant information.
What you see in your feeds is what everyone is doing with the surnames you follow. Sometimes they will apply directly to your family. Sometimes they may connect but it is so far in the past that there's no way to know for sure.
Yes, keep creating sourced profiles until you get a suggestion when on the add screen saying that the profile may already exist. When that happens, compare the two. If they look like the same person, use the highlighted link (not the checkbox) to set them as the same person.
When creating profiles, please be sure to make the last name both upper and lower characters such as Mikel and King. I noticed that you have created some already with all lower case. You can fix those by using the edit link beside the Last Name at Birth (LNAB) to make the correction. You can read more about that on this help page for Name Field Capitalization.
I hope you won't mind that I did some research on one of the profiles you created, Matthew Melvin (king) King (abt.1921-1997), to add some sources and give you examples of the kind of data that will be most useful on the profiles. With that kind of detail, other researchers will more easily be able to collaborate on common families. I found the records using the Research tool
If you'll add some locations to the profiles you create, other WikiTreers will be able to help find records easier. You can always just add a suspected state or country and use the Uncertain button below the location boxes.
I hope this helps!

Also, you have several profiles that have a lower case Last Name at Birth. The guidance on name fields is here. Instructions on changing the last name at birth are here
I hope you are enjoying WikiTree. It's a great place to be.

For those using Chrome or Opera browsers, there is a tool that can help with the formatting of profiles that have been created through GEDCOM, so that you can concentrate on the research. You can read more about it in the WikiTree AGC FAQ.
