Keziah (Messenger) Benson was a Latter Day Saint pioneer.

Parents

• Keziah's parents were Joseph Messenger and Jemima Barber.

Birth Data

• Keziah was born on December 4, 1779 in Simsbury, Connecticut.

Marriage

• On the 15th day of December in 1795, Keziah married Benjamin Lewis Benson, a millwright from New York.^[1]

Life Events

• In 1832 both Benjamin and Keziah were baptized into the Mormon faith in Steuban, New York.
• Benjamin was a member of the Nauvoo High Council in 1837. He and Keziah were living in Nauvoo, Illinois in 1842.
• Keziah's husband, Benjamin, died while they were living in Mendon, Adams, Illinois in 1846.
• Three years later, Keziah, in her seventies, crossed the Great Plains on the Mormon Trail with Captain Silas Richards Third Company. Once she arrived in Springville, Utah, she was rebaptised into the Mormon faith.

Death and Burial

Keziah Messenger Benson died at the age of seventy-eight years in Springfield, Utah.
