Roll of Honor
Pvt. Lewis Meshishnek Died while Prisoner of War during World War II.

Lewis was born 8 Oct 1904 and passed away 1 Mar 1945.

Lewis was a member of the 38th Infantry Battalion, 7th Armored Division. He was wounded in Aug 1944 and suffered wounds to an arm near his elbow, after treatment he was released in Sep 1944. Later that year on 19 Dec 1944, while the 38th Infantry Division was involved in the Battle of St. Vith, Lewis was captured by the Germans and taken to Stalag IV-G in Oschatz Saxony. He eventually died while still a Prisoner of War (POW) on 1 Mar 1945. He is buried in Ardennes American Cemetery and Memorial, Neuville-en-Condroz, Liège, Belgium. [1]
