Thaddeus,7 Merrill (Thaddeus,6 Nathanel,5 John,4, Nathaniel,3-1), the son of Thaddeus,6 and Chloe (Smead) Merrill, was born in Rowe, Hampshire, Massachusetts, United States in 1781; He married Achash, daughter of Martin and Lucy (Whitney) Severance, in Shelburne, Franklin, Massachusetts on 6 August 1801; He died in Shelburne, Franklin, Massachusetts on 2 August 1855.
Thaddeus and Achsah raised a family of 13 children between 1801 and 1824 in Shelburne. Thaddeus was a stonemason. He lived, worked and died in Shelburne and was buried there at Arms Cemetery. His tombstone is inscribed “Died 2 Aug 1855 Aged 75 YEARS” (calculated birth is 1780, note: his parents married on 7 Dec 1780).
Thaddeus was survived by Achsah and ten of their thirteen children.

1781 - Thaddeus Merrill, Jr is born in Rowe, Hampshire, Massachusetts between 7 Dec 1780 and 6 Oct 1782, the date of his brother Ebenezer's birth. A birth record for Thaddeus, Jr has not been discovered. His parents raised their family in Rowe, his mother died there in 1827, and his father died there in 1838.
