Biography

Florence Augusta Merriam was born in 1863. She was the daughter of Clinton Merriam. She attended Smith College between 1882 and 1886. She married Vernon Bailey on 16 December 1899. Florence was awarded the Brewster Medal by the American Ornithologist's Union in 1931. She passed away in 1948 and is buried in Locust Grove Cemetery, Port Leyden, Lewis County, New York.
