Biography
Nancy Jane Means was born on December 29, 1837 in Missouri, United States, daughter of George Washington Means (1816– ) and Sylvia Irwin (1821–1852).
In 1850, Nancy Means (age 13) was living with her mother Sylvia Means and three younger siblings in the household of her grandfather Robert Irvin (age 50, farmer), in Tremont Township, Buchanan, Missouri, United States. [1]
Nancy (15) married Merrell C. Jasper (25) (born on December 15, 1827; son of Terrill Jasper and Jemima (Harris) Jasper) on July 24, 1853.[2] They may have had nine children:

In 1860, Nancy J Jasper (22) was living with her husband Minel Jasper (age 32), four children: James T (6), Sarah S (5), William R (3), Suzan E (1), and sister Suzan E Means (15), in Lloyds Precinct, Benton, Oregon, United States. [3]
Nancy died on June 2, 1870 in Summerville, Union, Oregon, aged 32, married. Nancy was mentioned on a memorial in Summerville Cemetery, Summerville, Union County, Oregon, United States with a death date of 2 June 1870.[4]
