I'm a descendant of David Hamilton of Lanarkshire, Scotland 1725-1801 and his son Lt. David Hamilton of York/Pickens, SC and Rev War hero. I've been looking into other Hamilton descendants who arrived during the scotch-Irish migrations and the name Andrew Calhoun Hamilton came up several times. Just to be curious, I checked several people, like yourself, if our DNA matches off GED and it appears we do! This means my ancestor and yours had to be siblings or cousins. I'd love to chat and exchange info. I also run a Facebook group for our American Hamiltons called: Fraser & Hamilton Clans of North & South Carolina & Georgia. Please check it out and join! Compare GED with my branch and stories!

I would love to see your DNA data on GEDMatch.com. There are instructions there for copying your DNA data to that free site. Once you have your data copied, there are good tools for comparing various people's DNA. Maybe we can find some DNA that we both inherited from the Scotts in the old country.
