Biography
John R. McQuown was born in 1828. He was the son of Arthur McQuown and Nancy Smith.
He moved with his family from Washington county, Virginia to Henderson county, Illinois in 1836.
He married Eliza M. Best on 15 April 1858 in Henderson county.[1]
They had children:
1. Andrew G., b. 1859;
2. Nancy E. (Ella), b. 1861;
3. Sarah F., b. 1863;
4. Arthur O., b. 1866;
5. Harry R., b. 1868;
6. Mary E., b. 1868;
7. Eliza, b. 1870.
In 1860 and 1870, they were living in Henderson county.[2][3] They were living in Olena in Henderson county in 1880.[4]
He passed away in 1881. He was buried in South Henderson cemetery in Gladstone, Henderson, Illinois.[5]
