Corporal George McQueen served in the United States Civil War.

George was born in 1837. Son of William McQueen and Mary Mosier. During the Civil War he was a member of the 8th Regt, Iowa Vol. Infantry. He was taken prisoner at the battle of Shiloh, and after spending some time in Southern prisons was paroled and rejoined his regiment.

He married Catherine R. Brown on 28 January 1864 in Monticello, Iowa.^[1]

He passed away 27 December 1898 at his home in Lorane, Oregon.^[2]

Research Note

• Location of birth is not certain. Ohio is listed as the birthplace on the first census that George is counted. But the "Brown Genealogy" and another census indicate he was born in Indiana.
