Biography
Stella (McNab) Beard is a part of US Black heritage.
Estella McNab was born about Jul 1881, probably in Pike, Alabama, to William McNab and Ellen Williams. She died 1935.
The 1900 census of Darbys, Pike, Alabama reported Estelle McNab 18 (b. Jul 1881 AL, asst. house keeper) in the household of her parents, William McNab 77 and Ellen McNab 36, with six younger siblings. Her father was a farmer.[1]
Estella McNab apparently married a Mr. Johnson before 1908.
Stella Johnson married Monroe Beard on 30 Jul 1908 in Pike, Alabama,[2] his second marriage and her third, according to their 1910 census.
The 1910 census of Darby, Pike, Alabama reported Monroe (coded Momoe) Beard 24 and Estella Beard 27, with daughter Burdie Monroe 7/12 and brother-in-law Dennis McNab 19. Monroe was a farm laborer.[3]
The 1920 census of Darbys, Pike, Alabama reported Monroe Beard 36 and Stella Beard 37, with children: Birdie 10, John W. 8, Pinkie Lou 6, Mamie Lee 4, Collin P. 2, and Lela Fay 1/12. Monroe was a farmer.[4]
The 1930 census of Darbys, Pike, Alabama reported Monroe Beard 46 and Estella Beard 43, with John W. 19 Manny L. 14, Callin P. 12, Doris M. 10, and Stella F. 7.[5]
Estella Beard 50 died 1 Sep 1935 in Goshen, Pike, Alabama. Married to Monroe Beard, her parents were Billie McNab and Ellen [Williams McNab] Key, both of Pike County, Alabama.[6]
