Research

Haven't found information about when he died. However, he appears in the US 1910 census, so he was alive then. In his daughter Jessie's wedding announcement in 1938, in the The Tribune Tue, May 31, 1938 on Page 6 it says she is the daughter of the "late Mr. and Mrs. John McLeod", so he is dead by then. On his wife's death certificate in 1919, daughter Jessie says her mother was Married (not Widowed). This could mean he was alive then, or the daughter considered her widowed mother to be married, not single. There was a John W. McLeod who died in Pictou Nova Scotia in 1942, but his middle name was William, and this man's middle name has always had a G - plus he died in 1938. So that's not him.
