Jewel Lee Flynt ^[2]

Jewel Lee Flynt, 94, a merchant, of Mt. Olive died April 13, 2003 at Simpson General Hospital. Services were conducted April 14 from her home church, Shiloh Missionary Baptist, on Highway 532 in Mt. Olive. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Flynt was born in 1908 to Homer Merdock and Montie King McLeod of Mt Olive, attended Shelby School and graduated from Mt Olive High School. She came to the Shiloh community upon her marriage to Benjamin Luther Flynt in 1926. After her husband's death in 1951 she was involved with the family farm and later became a store merchant.
