Biography
Kay was the first female sailor to perform a single-handed, non-stop circumnavigation of the world, in 1988, in the yacht Blackmores First Lady. The journey time was 189 days.
She was Australian of the Year in 1988.
She was awarded the Officer of the Order of Australia in 1989.
