Biography
Lillian McKittrick is a part of US Black heritage.
Lillian Lucile McKittrick was born on 21 Oct 1924 in Oklahoma, daughter of William Carl McKittrick and Caroline Walker.
The 1930 Census shows[1] her at age 5 in the home of her parents in Gatesville Township, Wagoner County, Oklahoma.
The 1940 Census[2] shows her at age 15 in the home of her parents in Shahan Township, Wagoner County, Oklahoma. She attended school within the census year.
Lillian married Raymond W McJunkins on 18 Sep 1943 in Jackson County, Missouri.[3] Lillian (age 18) married Raymond W McJunkins (age 23 years) on 18 Sep 1943 in Jackson, Missouri, United States.[4]
In 1955 she started a career that included several positions with the Missouri-Mississippi River Valley District Council of the International Ladies' Garment Workers Union. Lillian was "the first black woman in the area to become a union business representative and to serve on the Greater Kansas City Labor Council." [5] She retired in 1987.
Lillian was recorded as a resident from 10 Jan 2005 to 29 Oct 2007 in Coweta, Wagoner County, Oklahoma.[6]
Lillian died on 23 Mar 2010 in Kansas City, Jackson County, Missouri.[7] Excerpted from her obituary: [8]
