Mudgee Guardian & Nth western Representative 28-1-1915 P21. Decathlon On 18th January of Mrs Ridgeway ofClark’s Creek, Windeyer. The deceased lady had been ailing for about 2 years during which time she was cared for & nursed by her granddaughter Mrs J Williams with whom she resided for about 10 years. Born at Peterhead, Scotland she came to Mudgee with her family of 3 children to join her husband who like many others had taken to gold fever and sailed from Scotland some time before. The deceased married twice her first husband Mr William Gray,Ship Master Of Peterhead, who was the owner of 3 or 4 large trading ships which we believe at still in the family. He havingdied 6 months after their arrival in Australia. The deceased 2 years later remarried Mr Charles Ridgeway who predeceased her by some years. The deceased leaves 1 son,Mr William Gray Of Windeyer to mour, here 2 Daughters are dead. One daughter was married to Mr Parsons who in the old days kept a large butchery & Hotel buisness. The other daughter married the late Mr Baskerville of Mudgee,father of James & H Baskerville Of this town. The deceased lady after rearing her own family reared four children of the late Mrs Baskerville,the oldest being only 7 years old at it’s mothers death.The Deceased leaves 50 or 60 grandchildren & great grandchildren.. Fneral At Windeyer On Monday 18th.Remains buried beside her daughter and husband ,C/England portio Windeeyer
