Hi Bruce,

Thank you for having a big heart ❤ and adopting the Orphaned Profiles. This After Adopting Orphans help page explains the special attention those profiles need.

Hi Bruce!

One of our mentors created a tutorial for the GEDCOMpare process that others found very helpful. I hope that you will too.

P.S. To find reliable sources for your profiles, go to the Family Tree & Tools tab; select Genealogy Research and scroll down near the bottom of that list and select Research with RootsSearch. There are over 20 websites to access from there.

Hi Bruce

Thank you for adding your DNA Test to your profile on WikiTree. Getting Started with DNA will tell you more about how DNA kits are used on WikiTree.

DNA at WikiTree provides a visual way for you to find others who have tested and have the potential of having common ancestors. To get the best results, you need to continue adding sourced profiles for your ancestors until you can connect to existing profiles in WikiTree. If you have exhausted what you know on one line, try a different one. 24 hours after you connect to an existing profile, your test will have populated on the profiles of your ancestors and their descendants, where others with potential matches may also appear.

Let me know if you have any questions and have fun!

Hi Bruce

Thanks for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz!

Pre-1700 ancestors can be shared by many descendants, so collaboration is essential. You can learn more about joining the community in How To #3 and in the Project FAQ.

The Canada and Ireland Projects may fit your research focus. If not, use the Pre-1700 Projects list to find other possibilities. Review the project page to learn about resources and guidelines as well as how to collaborate with the project members.

Have questions? Let me know by using the "reply" link under my comments or by clicking my name to visit my profile. From there you can leave a comment or send a private message.

Thank you for volunteering, Bruce!

You are now a member of the WikiTree community. I hope your experience among us is as enjoyable and fruitful as mine has been.

Start with the New Member How-To pages — they are really useful as you add profiles and learn your way around.

When you are ready take a look at projects, there may be a One Name Study for your surnames, or a project covering your research location(s).

Take your time, and let me know if you need any help using the site.

P.S. If you get error messages when you click links from WikiTree emails, try the links from your profile page.
