Samuel McElhinney, 71, passed away on 8 May 1874 in Iowa. He was born on 3 May 1803 in Ireland and married Ann Elder in about 1826.
Mr. McElhinney was survived by: his children, Joseph McElhinney, b. 1827; Mary Jane (McElhinney) Robinson, b. 1829; Margaret (McElhinney) Hensleigh, b. 1836; Annie (McElhinney) Armour, b. 1837; Robert Alexander McElhinney, b. 1840; Samuel Elder McElhinney, b. 1842; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; wife, Ann, 1808-1849; and children, William John McElhinney, 1831-1851; Catharine McElhinney, 1834-1851; Martha (McElhinney) Edgar, 1844-1872; Nancy McElhinney, 1846-1849; and infant Rebecca McElhinney, 1848-1848.
Samuel is buried at the Rice Cemetery, Morning Sun, Louisa, Iowa. The findagrave memorial ID is 19712805.
