• It appears that Donald first married Jane E. Howard, though other than a voter registration in Monterey, California (1940-1944) for 'Mrs. Jane E.McDewell, 99 Madison St., Monterey', little else can be found regarding their marriage. There is also a 1947 city directory for Monterey, California, listing Jane McDewell and spouse Donald McDewell. There is a marriage record for 'Jane E. Krutsch/McDewell' marrying Robert E. Ferguson, at Monterey, California, 4 Jul 1953, and an obituary from Beeville, Texas for 'Jane Elizabeth (Krutsch) Ferguson' who passed away June 9, 2013. This obituary notes 'Mrs. Ferguson was born Dec. 17, 1922, in Denver, Colo., to William Joseph and Ruth Elizabeth (Hansgen) Howard'. The obituary also mentions a brother 'Ronald (Erin) Krutsch of Loveland, Colo.', suggesting that her mother remarried a Krutsch.
• It would appear that Jane E. Howard may have first married Donald McDewell sometime c1940, then Robert Ferguson in 1953.
• 1930 US Census, Buena Vista, Chaffee County, Colorado, enumerates 'Jane Powell', her mother 'Ruth Powell. 'father, Lawrence Powell', and sisters, 'Winifred Powell' and Lerayne Powell'. This suggests that her mother also married Lawrence Powell.
• 'Jane E. Krutsch' is enumerated in the 1940 US Census, Arapahoe, Colorado, along with her mother, Ruth E. Krutsch, and 'father' Dexter R. Krutsch'.
