Biography

William, or Guillaume, McKoy, son of William McKoy and Marguerite Menard, was born in the United States about 1785. He moved to Louisiana about 1795.^[1]

He married Francoise Carriere, daughter of Pierre Carriere and Marie Louis Vivarette, on 1 Feb. 1803 in St. Landry Parish, Louisiana. The marriage was recorded at St. Landry Catholic Church, Opelousas, St. Landry Parish, Louisiana.^[1]

William died in Dec. 1815, his body was found on the prairie, and he was buried on 28 Dec, 1815 in the St. Landry Parish Cemetery.^[1]
