Nancy Ann McClendon was born in 1836 in St. Clair, Alabama, United States, daughter of Andrew Moorman McClendon (1813–1898) and Mariam Pearson (1817–1899).

Nancy married Thomas R. Buckner (born on August 4, 1834 in Tennessee, USA; son of John Buckner Sr and Rachel (Lindsey) Buckner). Their children were:

In 1850, Nancy (13) was living in District 39, St Clair with her children, Marian Clendon (33), and Mary Clendon (6); her siblings, James Clendon (12), Elizabeth M Clendon (8), and Margaret Clendon (4); and Monnae M Clendon (37), Nancy Ann Clendon (14), Huldy Clendon (10), and C W Clendon (3). [1]

Nancy died in 1920 in Fayette, Alabama, aged 83.
