Mary McAlpin has different middle initials in sources, "E" or "K" which may be interpretation of script. Her Biography from Find A Grave reads: "Mary "E" McAlpin was born 1845, Johnson County Indiana, not Ohio. Her parents were Alexander McAlpin and Margaret Williams of Johnson Co. IN, Andrew Co. MO., and Mills Co. IA. Mary married Ransom Krahl, 12 March 1868, Mills Co. IA. at the home of her stepfather John Carter. He died 7 May 1871, Gustavus, Trumbull Co. OH. probably of wounds from the Civil War. The couple had no children. 26 Apr. 1899, she married Clark Puffer in San Bernadino Co., CA. She died 15 May,1922 in Riverside CA.
