Biography

Ernst was born in the Austrian town of Pulkau on December 20, 1764 to parents Ernest and Catherine (LNU) Mayer. He worked for the Schwarzenbergs, and in 1806 authored an agricultural textbook, Anleitung zum Behufe der ausübenden Oekonomie für die Schüler des landw. for the Instituts zu Krumau in Böhmen. He also wrote a book about the Schwarzenberg Canal and a history of the Bohemian Forest, [Šumava]. According to Kohoutí Kríž, he married three times:

• 1794 to Karolina Vlczek
• 1813 to Karolina Tucamps
• 1822 to Marie Josefa Rosalie Uhlig von Uhlenau. He was 59 and she was 17. Maria was the sister of Gottfried Uhlig von Uhlenau, a notable soldier and witness to the Napoleonic Wars and the Holy Alliance.
