Biography

Richard Matthews is the descendant of a New Netherland settler.

Richard Matthews was the son of Ezekiel Matthews.

Richard Matthews recorded his earmark as: "A Crop of the off Ear and a half penney under the Near Ear" on May 27, 1766/7. ( [1]

On 29 March, 1767 he married Elizabeth Raynor at St. Georges Church, Hempstead, Queens, New York.

Richard Matthews' wife was dead by the time Richard Matthews wrote his will on 5 Nov 1815 [Early wills of Queens Co NY] Richard Matthews died before 12 Mar 1824.
