Birth / baptism: 1 Feb 1850 - Jefferson Co, Georgia (some sites say 1851)
Marriage: 18 Jan 1871 - Washington Co, Georgia to Robert W. Hardwick
Death: 18 Dec 1889 - Washington Co, Georgia
Burial: Old City Cemetery, Sandersville, Washington Co, Georgia
NOTE: The Matthews named daughter Zemula after a neighbor. On the 1850 census, next door to the Matthews is the family of George H. Schley. His wife (b. Richmond Co) is named ZEMULAR W. SCHLEY. The Schley's also have a daughter (age 6) named ZEMULAR, born in Russell Co, Alabama. The Schleys move to Ft. Bend Co, Tex by 1860. Our Zemmula's name is sometimes given as Zemmie, Zemular or Zemmula. So far, I can't find a relationship between the Matthews and the Schleys other than as neighbors...but there could be one.....research this.
