John Mathews was born in Somerset, England.
John was born in about 1769 to Richard Matthews and Mary Chislett.
He was baptised on 24 Feb 1769 in Buckland Dinham, Somerset, England.[1]
John married Miriam Horler on 05 Sep 1796 in Kilmersdon, Somerset.[2]
The couple went on to have at least nine children.
In the 1841 census John and Miriam were living in Kilmersdon with their daughter Mary and her family. John was working as a carpenter.[3]
He died in 1849 and was buried on 01 May 1849 in Kilmersdon, St Peter and St Paul Parish Church.[4]
