Elizabeth Martinez was a Chicana feminist, activist, and writer. She was involved in the Chicano Movement, Civil Rights Movement, and was one of only two Latinas who worked for the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee (SNCC) in the 1960s.
Elizabeth "Betita" Martinez was born in 1925. She was the daughter of Manuel Martinez and Ruth Phillips. She passed away in 2021.
