The daughter of Jonas Martin Jr and his first wife, Mary (Crouthamel) Martin, Elmira Martin was born in Dublin, Pennsylvania[citation needed] in1875, residing with her family in Doylestown Township.[1] She married Warren G. Lewis (1870-1964), the son of Thomas Ellwood Lewis and Angeline Fryling, marrying in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on December 5, 1898[2] and having two known children together:

Elmira and her family made their home on Poplar Avenue in Philadelphia's Ward 29, where her husband worked as a painter.[3][4] In 1910, they rented a home on N. Cleveland Avenue in Philadelphia,[5] and Elmira worked as an orchestra musician. In 1920, residing on N. Woodstreet Street in Philadelphia, Elmira worked as a music teacher.[6]
After moving to New Jersey, Elmira and Warren divorced and in 1930, Elmira lived in Atlantic City, New Jersey, with her daughter, living in the home of her sister, Barbara, and her family on Chelsea Avenue and working as a dress maker in a dress shop and living in a household on Chelsea Avenue.[7]
Research Notes
Nothing more is known; it's possible that she passed away in California, where her daughter moved.
