James Martin was born 14 Apr 1814 in Niagra, New York. He married Sarah Jane Scott in Vermillion, Indiana on 25 Jun 1840. He died in Illinois on 26 Apr 1880 and is buried at McDowell Cemetery, Nevada Township, Illinois.
