will dated 1701 mentions daug Dorothy wife of Thomas How YET vr's has Dorothy married 1661 so she perhaps born 1645, unlikely daug of Thos Martin b 1660. Is the will dtd 1701 attached to the wrong Thos Martin ?
Thomas Martin was one of the proprietors of the Ockoocangansett Plantation, and his name is borne on the list in 1693, to whom land had been granted. He died 13 Nov 1701. [1]
Sources are inconsistent in naming children.
Dorothy Martin, daug of Thomas and Joanna Martin marr 1st 6 Apr 1661 to Joseph How, son of Abraham - she is mentioned in her father's will. Dorothy married 2nd 15 May 1706 to Samuel Morris, resided in Marlborough, then in 1718 living near Woodstock, CT.[2]
He probably had 3 children with him in Marlborough: [History of Marlborough publ 1862]
Mary marr in 1718 to Isaac AMSDEN" [This was actually the widow of Adam below remarrying to Isaac Amsden, and not a daughter of Thomas Martin]
Adam marr 22 Feb 1708 to Mary CHURCH[3], Adam died 25 Apr 1716
Thomas marr 31 Jan 1710 to Mary GOVE, [4] Thomas died 4 Oct 1729
In his will dated 3 Dec 1701 "I thomas martine of Marlborough being at the present aged and weak in body ..." mentions Johanna loving wife, ... my son Thomas ... son Joseph How and Dorithy his wife, ... give unto Mary Gove...if she doth continues? with my wife... Mentions Dorithy wife of Joseph How and does not appear to mention Mary or Adam who are listed below.[5]
