Biography

Alphonso Marson was born at Pittston, Maine in 1865, the son of Alden Marson (1820-1871) and Mehitable Emily Tyler (1831-).

He married Jennie Hewey at Avon, Maine on 2 Apr 1896. They are the parents of nine known children.

The 1900 US census report for Avon, Maine shows Alphonze [sic] Marson (37) a farmer, living with his wife Jennie (23), daughters Emily E (3) and Sarah L (1), as well as his two bachelor brothers Washington Marson (50) and Willis A Marson (35). Washington and Willis are both employed as day laborers. According to the report. Alphonso and Jennie have been married for four years and Jennie has given birth to two children.

The 1910 US census report for New Vineyard, Maine shows Alfonso [sic] Marson (43) living with his family at a rented farm on the Mountain Road. His wife Jennie (33) has given birth to seven children, four living at the time of the census. Living with him are Emily (13), Louisa (10), Chester (8) and Blanche (3).

He passed away at Phillips, Maine in 1917. His death record states that he was buried at Avon, Maine but does not state at which cemetery.
