Thomas Marshall, a son of Christopher Marshall and Elizabeth _______. Born: 21 Jul 1719 Boston [1][2][3][4]

His father was Captain Christopher Marshall, born 1697, an officer in the British service, assisted in the capture of Louisburg in 1746.

A Colonel in the American Revolution, first of the Boston Regiment, then in the Continental Army.[5][6]

Marshall was a tailor. As a member of the Ancient and Honorable Artillery Company of Massachusetts since 1761, he was named a colonel before the Revolutionary War. As a prominent Boston citizen, he was active in civic and government affairs, and served as a selectman from 1772–1776. His portrait and bio at dar.org.[7]

"Was Captain in the Boston militia. A prominent citizen, involved with political brawls, witnessing the Boston Massacre and participating in an attack on a Loyalist publisher. During the siege of Boston he remained in town while most Patriot leaders left. As a town official he help to negotiate the British evacuation in 1776. After commanding a regiment as a colonel during the Revolutionary War, he retired to the small town of Weston to live out the rest of his days." [8]
