Biography

Giuseppe was born in 1823 to Gaspare Marino and Anna Cusenza ^[1]. In 1851 he married Antonina Sciara when he was 28 and she was 21 ^[2]. We have no record yet of children. Antonina died within a few years, for less than 3 years later Giuseppe married 28-year-old Antonina Lamanno ^[3]. He and his 2nd wife had several children.

Giuseppe's marriage record state his status as 'villico', usually translated to mean a peasant farmer. Son Gaspare's marriage record indicates that Giuseppe was a 'contadino, or sharecropper farmer.
