Obituary:
Richard Lee Marino, 78, passed Feb. 10, 2014. He was born Dec. 27, 1935 in Sacramento, CA to Frank and Rose Marino. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Frank, and sister Beverly. He is survived by his loving partner Marlene Chatoian.
Richard joined the Marines at age 17 and proudly served in Korea. His favorite saying was, "Once a Marine, always a Marine." After leaving the Marines he became a barber, opening his own shop in downtown Sacramento. He also coached Little League a number of years and was an avid sports fan. After reuniting with his first love, Marlene, he relocated to Eugene where he resided for the last 15 years. During his time here in Eugene, he learned to play the fiddle, worked as a barber, worked out at the gym and enjoyed dancing with his partner and attending social events.
Richard was a free spirit, loved by family and friends, he never met a stranger. He was always ready to engage in conversation, kept up with current events, and always willing to lend a hand. He was the life of the party and his family. He will be dearly missed. Semper Fi!
