Biographie

I was born in Thetford Mines, but I grew up in Black Lake (Canada). I became a nurse at the age of 19. I worked in intensive care at different hospitals in Montreal and Thetford Mines. I have been retired since June 2014; so i can enjoy my 4 children and 6 grandchildren.

I have a particular interest in the Acadian Diaspora, being myself a descendant of Acadians. Indeed Jean Baptiste Landry and Marguerite Melanson are my ancestors.

Par l'Acte d'Union de 1840, du 10 février 1841 au 30 juin 1867, le Québec se nommait Canada-Est.
posted by Roger Nolin
Selon le Projet Québécois, l'appellation Canada-Est n'était utilisée que pour les Recensements. Peut-être que les consignes ont changé... Je vérifierai auprès de Danielle Liard, Project Leader.

Julie, thanks for tidying Québec place names! I see on the Quebecois Project page we're asked to include parish names in marriage location. I restored that for Louise Aide-Crequy.

Thank you for the information Karen! I didn't know that.

I didn't either! But I also didn't know the parishes weren't wanted in birth and death locations, so thanks for your work!

Hello Julie!

Id appreciate your assistance with this if you can help! You are the owner of several profiles with the last name Pepin-Lachance. Per wikitree and Project Quebecois guidelines, please use only the FIRST last name on a baptismal record for the last name at birth section, with the full dit name and variants in either current last name or other last names. This helps IMMENSELY in preventing duplicates, which would not show with a hyphenated name such as this (especially as this is not a standard naming format). If you are able to correct these , it would be extremely helpful! You can go to this page to see more easily which profiles you own that are incorrectly named: https://www.wikitree.com/genealogy/Pepinlachance

Thank you!

Lauren, Project Quebecois team https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Project:Quebecois

Bonjour Lauren,

Je comprends que même si l'Acte de Baptême est aux 2 noms Pépin ET Lachabce; je dois placer seulement Pépin comme LNAB et Lachance dans Other Last Name? Ex:

Baptême, St-Joachim (Montmorency), 29-déc.-1816 - Naissance : 29-déc.-1816
PEPIN LACHANCE, Flavie - Sujet
PEPIN LACHANCE, Jean - Père
RACINE, Genevieve - Mère

Merci, Julie

Hello Julie,

I saw that you edited the status indicators on Pierre Théophile Decoigne (1808-1839) to indicate that he died unmarried and with no children. This is incorrect. I included in the sources his entry in the Dictionary of Canadian Biography, which states that he married and had three children. Please consult the following: http://www.biographi.ca/fr/bio/decoigne_pierre_theophile_7E.html

Hi Greg,

you are absolutely right. I was about to correct my error. I have found his marriage record and child baptism record in Drouin. Thank you.

Bonjour

Hi, Julie, I was just thanking you for ading the Acadian project box on the new profiles you create - that makes my job a lot easier! Then I realized when you are the PM, you could also add the Acadians project as a co-manager. just add this email [email address removed] and then mark it as a manager. That would be a double thank you!

Edit Conflict. Someone else edited this profile while you were working. Please edit the updated profile in a new window copying your changes from here if necessary.

Hi Julie I had just completed the merge of Bastarache profiles and was working on the biography. When I tried to save, I saw an edit conflict. I copied the entire biography because I had made a lot of changes, into a new window as I was advised to by the message. I was able to save but I think the edits you made were not saved. I am finished so please take a look. BTW, I always clean up after a merge so give me a little time. lol (too many cooks etc.) Thanks for being a good sport.
