Biography

Helen Dorothy Malmgron (also known as Nell Stirling) was born on August 22, 1909 in Summer Hill, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia to Henry Malmgron and Mary Lawrie.^[1] She was a radio actress and producer and a dancer.

She married Harold Parks on March 29, 1934 at St David's Presbyterian Church in Ashfield.^[2] They had one daughter together. They divorced in July 1948.^[3]

Nell and George built their dream home, Darjoa, at Point Piper in 1937.

Nell married a second time to her accountant, Alexander Atwill, on November 9, 1948 at St Philip's Church of England in Sydney.^[4] They had one daughter together.

She passed away of an accidental overdose of carbitral capsules on November 10, 1951^[5] at her Vaucluse home and was cremated with Anglican rites.^[6]
