Josefa Mair was born at 2 a.m. on 14 June 1861 to Kaspar Mayr and Kreszens Mauth of Oberfinning, Bayern. She was baptized the same day in the parish church at Oberfinning by Rev. Martin Graf. Her godmother was Josefa Haimers of Unterfinning.[1]
Josefa died at 2 a.m. on 17 September 1861 of diarrhea and inflammation, attended by Dr. Hoeber, when she was just over two months old. She was buried two days later, with funeral rites conducted by Rev. Fidel Wiedemann.[2]
