Kevin, you share mitochondrial DNA with my direct ancestor, Joseph Aaron Hill of Randolph Co., NC. His mother was Mary Spencer. I hope this helps you trace one of your undocumented lines.

Mr. Hill,

Thank you for the information. I am curious how you found the detail of his mtDNA with him dying in 1932? has one of Mary Spencers female line tested? The reason I am wanting details is there were two Nathan(el) Lee married to an Liza/Eliza/Elizabeth/Lisa Wilkons(on) in Indiana the same year. I am trying to verify which pair it was.

Thank You Kevin Patrick Mahoney College Station, Texas

Hi Kevin!

Thanks for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz.

Because pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants, working with members of the projects which coordinate them is essential. You can learn more about joining the community in How To #3 and in the Project FAQ.

Use the Pre-1700 Projects list to find one which best fits your research focus. Review the project pages for special guidelines and to learn how to collaborate with the project members.

Let me know if you have trouble finding projects which fit your focus. Click my name, then ask in the comment section of my page.

Hi!

Now that you have had a little time to try WikiTree, there are a few more features you may find useful.

Ideas on what to include in a profile can be found in Styles and Standards, including some tips on writing biographies.

If you need to describe an event, an heirloom or a location relevant to your research, you may like to learn about Free Space Profiles.

Lastly, sometimes you'll run into unresponsive profile managers. We have a process for resolving those unfortunate situations.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask via my profile page.

Kevin –

You are now a confirmed member of WikiTree! Thank you for volunteering.

Not sure how to start? Check out How to Use Wikitree.

Have fun and ask for help in G2G if you need it! WikiTree members are always eager to offer guidance to a fellow genealogist. It’s a fun place too. Take a look at what I mean here, G2G’s Question of the Week: How much time daily or weekly do you think you spend actively researching on your family history? The G2G forum is a great way to get to know our community, and if you would like to get more involved, see this page for volunteer opportunities.

Happy hunting!

Hi Kevin,

Welcome to WikiTree! The email we just sent has helpful links to get you started.

WikiTree is different than other genealogy websites because our goal is to have one profile per person, and that means we share ancestors and work together as a BIG collaborative team!

What brings you to WikiTree? Do you have research you’d like to share? Are you interested in how your family fits into the big tree?

When you confirm your email address, you’ll be given an opportunity to volunteer to help document our collective family history. Use the Tags and comments to tell us about your genealogical interests.

When you volunteer, one of our Greeters will confirm your membership. Then you'll be able to add your family to the tree!

We're really glad you're here!
