She is NOT the Sarah Maddox who married James Louden on February 19, 1843, in Auckland, New Zealand and had five children during their marriage and who died as a young mother on June 25, 1854, in Auckland, New Zealand, at the age of 31, and was buried in Auckland, Auckland, New Zealand.
N.B. When son Richard married Ann Jones on the 18th October 1866 at Weston Lullingfield, he gave his father's name as Edward Leak.
Edward Leek or Barnett was born in 1822 and baptised on the 12th May 1822 at Wem, Shropshire, England, the son of William Barnett and Margaret Leek.
In 1851 there were two Sarah Maddox, both giving their birth place as Wem. The one at Edstaston Hall is the most likely, but the other (b. 1822 Wem) was a house servant at Creamore Mill, Wem, Shropshire, England, in the household of miller Thomas Jebb and his sister Eliza Jebb.
