Annie Mackler was born in May 1886 to Morris Mackler and Sophia Barkin in the Russian Empire.^[1][2]

Annie emigrated to New York City around 1892.^[1][2]

Annie was living with her parents on the Lower East Side of Manhattan, renting their home at 111 Ludlow St. in 1900.^[1] The family moved to 36 Pike St by 1905.^[2]
