It is once again time for our annual Scotland Project check-in. Please respond within the next three weeks to let us know:
•If you would like to continue as a project member •If you are happy with your current teams or would you like to join a different team •How much time per month (on average) you spend working on Scottish profiles •Anything you’d like the Scotland Project to do more of in the future
You can respond to this message by posting a reply below or sending me a private message on WikiTree. If we don’t hear from you within the next three weeks we’ll assume your interests have changed or you are no longer able to participate in the Scotland Project at this time, and your badge will be removed. If your circumstances change later you will be welcome to reapply for membership.
On behalf of the Scotland Project, I would like to thank you for your commitment to the project's goals. Every single contribution you make helps improve Scottish profiles!
Sheena - Scotland Project Membership Coordinator
many thanks for contacting me. I am still active on my Scottish ancestors - currently working my way through the 1921 census records - but I'm no longer able to be as active as I was. My eyesight has become compromised through glaucoma and aspects of Wikitree that are very important - e.g. accuracy! are taking longer and longer to double check. It means, for instance, that I don't think I can contribute to any of the '-thons' that are organised. It probably is sensible to stop being a Scotland Project member. Best regards, Moira
Thanks for letting us know. Thank you for all the work you've done on our Scottish ancestors and don't forget that you can always use the Scotland tag on G2G and someone will do their best to help.
Sheena

It's time for our annual Scotland Project check-in!
This year we are hoping to learn what our membership would like to accomplish over the next 12 months. In case you aren't aware, this year is WikiTree's ""Year of Connections"" and the Project's leadership would like to contribute to this in as many ways as possible.
We would appreciate it if you would share your thoughts and ideas with us on how we can accomplish this goal. We would also appreciate it if you would provide some feedback on our existing goals, including:
We continue to communicate with our Project members via Google Group (official) and Discord (unofficial), as well as G2G. You may also reach out to any of the Project leaders via WikiTree's internal messaging system at any time.
Thank you for all you do to help the Scotland Project become a knowledge hub for Scottish genealogical research! We wish you all the best in 2022!
many thanks for checking how I'm doing :)
Annual Scotland Project check-in 1. In 2022 I’d like to get to grips with the 1921 census records. We already have the English ones – when will Scotland’s follow?
2. Year of Connections – fantastic! With loads of profiles entered into Wikitree you can’t help but make connections. The more profiles I add as branches to existing ones the more I get emails from people who have discovered their ancestor (usually a grandparent) in one of my profiles. I have had some lovely connections – mostly with people from people in the USA, Canada, Australia and South Africa. We have mutual benefits. They learn more about their ancestors and I am often given details of more recent ancestors that aren’t available via websites. In addition some people who contact me go on to become Wikiteers. Win/win.
3. Existing goals feedback. – a) yes, I have been part of Twisted Thistles Team. b) No I’ve not been tempted by the Tartan Trail. c) Periodicity of the Project newsletter – I suggest sporadically, i.e. when there’s enough info to warrant a newsletter d) FAQs already look comprehensive to me e) Improve the Scotland Project? – perhaps more guidance/info about DNA tests and interpretation of tests?
Best regards, Moira
It’s time for a Project check-in!
Scotland Project Leaders check in with you at least once a year to see how you are doing. With the changes happening around the world, we understand that life is hectic right now.
What are you planning to work on for the Scotland Project this year? Are you happy with the team(s) you part of, or would you like to make some changes?
This time round, we’re also looking for feedback on the use of Google Group and Discord. Do you use one or both of these? If you don’t use either of them, what is the best way to ensure you receive Project communications? If you would like to join us on Google Group or Discord, let us know in your response.
I've been working on the South African decedents of my Scottish ancestors. The next big push actually in Scotland will come soon after July this year - whenever the 1921 census is released online. Thanks for the work you do. I do check in each day on my Google email account so I am picking up the posts from the Scottish Project Group. Best regards, Moira
We hope you are all well

My Grandmother was Mabel Small (Small-2972), she was born in the Eastern Cape in South Africa. I know she lived in East London and Port Elizabeth. Can you find or do you know of any link with the Small's you have added? Her one sister's name is Olie (Small) Palmer. I think Olie is short for Olivia...

I did not check all the profiles, as is now, we cant even see who your mother and father is. If you can please change the privacy levels to enable other wiki Treers to follow the line. Also for the people who already passed on, no need to keep them private. Lots of private profiles eventually cause duplicate profiles. I already found 6 of my nieces working on Wiki Tree without me knowing it. I don't say open all, use discretion when doing so. Hope this answer your question S
United we stand, each taking small steps toward our joint goal. Have a nice day. R
