Biography
Born in Canberra, ACT. My father was a member of the Australian Regular Army and as a result the family traveled/moved location every 2-3 years. As a military family, we lived in ACT, Queensland, New South Wales, South Australia and in Penang Malaysia.
I joined the Army at aged 16 years and began my own travels. Marrying and having a family of 4 children, we subsequently lived in Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland and finally Western Australia. After a career in the Army of over 21 years, I joined the Western Australia Police. After 9 years, I moved to the Australian Federal Police and over the next 12 years spent 5 years serving outside Australia with the United Nations and other Humanitarian and Peace Operations. I retired from policing after serving over 21 years.
I have been actively involved in my Family History and Genealogy for 44 years (at 2018). I started compiling my Family Tree as a paper-based project and later moved to digital Genealogy about 20 years ago, using a number of computer programmes/applications.
I am now moving my focus from growing my tree, towards DNA Genealogy.
