Walter Lucy was the son of Reginald Lucy and Margaret Mowbray.[1][2][3] His birth date is uncertain. His wife was age 24 in 1407[1], suggesting that he may have been born about 1380.
Life
In 1415 he was a commissioner in the Welsh Marches.[3]
Walter fought in France in 1419/20 with Edmund Mortimer, 5th Earl of March[3] and was one of his advisers.[1] He also held the office of Joint Warden of the Welsh Marches.[1]
He held lands in Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Northamptonshire, Hertfordshire, Worcestershire and elsewhere. His wife brought him lands in Cornwall and elsewhere.[1]
Death and burial of Walter Lucy and his wife Eleanor
Walter died on 4 October 1444.[1][2][3] His Will, dated 18 July 1444[1][2][3], was proved on 5 February 1445 and provided for masses to be said at a chapel in the lordship of Richard's Castle, on the borders of Herefordshire and Shripshire.[1][2]

Richardson describes him simply as a knight. The Earl of March title ran in the Mortimer family, not the Lucy family. I will delete the title... This profile could do with some revision and tidying up. I will add it to my to do list.
