Biography

Darwin Luce lived in Appalachia, in New York. See Appalachia Project.

Charles, who chose to be known either by his middle name, Darwin, or the shortened Dar, was born 17 May 1905.[1][2] He was the son of E. Adelbert and A. Grace (Wambold) Luce.[1][3]

He married Aldine Plyler on 1 Nov 1928 in Brockway, PA.[4]The couple would have four children in their 54 years of marriage.

While living in Ossian he started the Darwin Luce Trucking Co., which was later moved to Olean, NY. His last known address was in Hinsdale, about 50 miles to the SW of the area where they lived most of their lives. He passed away in the nearby Olean Hospital in Olean, NY on 7 Sep 1983.[5]
