Biography

I served in the Army and Army Reserve for over 25 years with more than 15 years in the public affairs arena. My experience runs the gamut from working at the U.S. Army Field Station at Camp Humphreys, South Korea to running the day-to-day operations of the Press Camp Headquarters at Fort Shafter, Hawaii. Various positions have included work as a newspaper editor, educational publications, community and media relations, as well as marketing. For the past eight years I have been dedicating time to findagrave.com primarily adding records for my extended family, friends and veterans' and local cemeteries. Additionally, in late 2012 I completed my application and was accepted into the Daughters of 1812, my first lineage society. In early 2018 I was accepted into The National Society of the Dames of the Court of Honor based on John P. Albaugh's service in the War of 1812. Based on the service of Samuel Johnston Davis, Sr. I was accepted into the National Society Daughters of the Union, 1861-1865 and Daughters of Union Veterans of the Civil War in 2019. Feeling lucky to have found WikiTree and hoping to find more Loss family members.

Hi Mary Ann!

Congratulations on certifying to work on pre-1700 profiles! It’s very important to read and understand the Help:Pre-1700 Profiles page. These profiles for deep ancestors are shared by many, and collaborating on them works best if we all follow the guidelines in the certification quiz.

Primary sources should always be added to pre-1700 profiles at the time they are created. If you don't have a source for a pre-1700 profile, it would be best to ask for help in the G2G forum before creating the profile.

Hi

Thank you for adding a DNA Test to Ella's profile on WikiTree. Getting Started with DNA will tell you more about how DNA kits are used on WikiTree.

DNA at WikiTree provides a visual way for you to find others who have tested and have the potential of having common ancestors. It normally takes 24 hours from adding a test, or adding a new ancestor, or ancestor’s descendant, for WikiTree to display your name and test results on your ancestors and their descendants’ profiles for potential cousins to compare results with.

Have fun! Mindy ~ WikiTree Volunteer Greeter
